General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and thank you for using healthcaremagic.

I understand your concern about the situation. The truth is that it is very much possible to contract sexually transmitted diseases via oral sex. Due to the very nature of the epithelial lining of private parts and mouth, they are always undergoing microscopic destruction and repair especially after any direct physical stress. So oral cavity can be infected by sexually transmitted infections.

Hence it is always wise and advisable to have sexual intercourse with a single partner or partners of known sexually transmitted infections status. As you have mentioned that you don't have any idea regarding the hiv status of the woman, it is highly recommended for you to get yourself checked, and practice safe sex with barrier contraceptives ( condoms, dental dams etc) in the future.

Hoping that you come out of this situation healthy.

I hope to have answered your query with adequate and appropriate information. Feel free to ask any further queries you may have.

Thanks again.
