I m an insulin dependent diabetic on a pump. I started taking prednisone for allergy complications. On day 4 my blood sugar is sky rocketing. I m taking a lot of insulin, but it is still 425. Is it ok to stop prednisone early? I can t take this!

Thanks for posting to hms.
Yes increasing blood sugar levels can occur due to prednisolone i.e. corticosteroids. But you should not abruptly stop this medication, you should taper the dose of the medication before stoping it. tapering can be done as per your current allergic condition. will be helpful if i get your current allergic condition.
