Does Procardia And Univasc Cause Lightheadedness And Weakness?
I HAVE BEEN TAKING PROCARDIA AND UNIVASC FOR MANY MONTHS........BUT THE PAST 2 MONTHS I HAVE BEEN TAKING CARE OF MY SON (55 YEARS) RECOVERING FROM SPINAL TUMOR ( CANCER) SO I HAVE NEGLECTED MY SELF CARE. DUE TO STRESS. I WAS FEELING OK WHEN NOT TAKING THEM......BUT RECENTLY REALIZED MY ERROR...........STARTED AGAIN ON THE 2 RX BUT FEELING LIGHT HEADED AND WEAK. SHOULD I KEEPING TAKING THEM.....OR STOP (WAS FEELING OK THEN).
Procardia(nifedipine) and univasc (moexipril) should not be stopped without medical advice. Now that you have already stopped and started these medications, I would advice a consultation with your cardiologist or physician immediately. Do not stop the medications again. Proacrdia can cause such adverse effects of light headedness and weakness that can subside over time. But a thorough assessment os required in your case to determine whether that medication is required. Hope the above information helps. Thanks.
