Does Prolonged Intake Of High Dose Medication Affect Health?
I have had herpes in my eye for 20 years...major flare ups over over past 18 months have resulted in me being on a maintenance dose of 2000 mg of acyclovir per day plus pred forte steriod drops every 3 hours. I am wondering if there are potential problems with maintaining these high dosages for the foreseable future? Numerous attempts to lower them have been unsuccessful (flare up of herpes).

Thank you for following up .It is very smart to ask this query.You should pay attention on your liver. I suggest-
1.Give liver test.
2.Do ultrasound of liver, pancreas to rule out parenchymal reaction and medicamentation hepatitis.
3.For protection of liver you can use LIV 52 2capsules 2 times after 15 min before meal for 1 month.
4.Follow Pevzner's diet 5
5.For boosting your immunity drink Tulsi juice,take Chyawanprash,multivitamins-Revital,Zincovit 1 tablet once a day for 1 month
Recovery soon.
Once you take the complete treatment all your infection will be cured.
