Does Proteus Mirabilis Cause Pneumonia?
My mother was hospitalized Monday and they heard a rattle in her left lung. They did a chest x-ray and it showed pneumonia. She has had wounds and one of the cultures came back proteus mirabilis. Could this have caused the pneumonia? She had proteus mirabilis 6 mths ago when she was in a rehabilitation center.
