Does Radiation For Brain Tumor Cause Lose Of Short Term Memory?
I am trying to find out more info on my son in laws brain tumor. He has a grade 2 stage astrocytoma brain tumor. He has already had one surgery but they didn t get it all and now is facing another surgery shortly with radiation and chemo after. Will the radiation make him lose his short term memory?
Hello. I have been through your question and understand your concern.
There are two types of radiotherapy. Whole brain radiotherapy which has some memory impairement as a possible side effect and stereotactic radiosurgery which does not have. In your case I think they will opte for the second option.
Hope this helps. Please feel free using MHC again
