Does Red Bumps On Tongue Indicates Thyroid Issue?

Hello my friend has red bumps on his tongue and it has been over a month they are not going away could this be a thyroid issue? They don't hurt, are symmetrical, and on the back of the tongue. He does occasionally chew tobaccosso I wanted to rule out thyroid before thinking another route

No, these wouldn't be related to a thyroid problem, and they are likely just enlarged papillae--taste buds--and nothing serious. But to ease his mind, he should have a doctor take a look.
