Hi,
1. Without being able to directly examine the patient, presently I will classify it as skin disease, and because it is recurrent and earlier examination by a GP classified it to be an
autoimmune disease, thus one thing to remember is that Psoriasis is not spread by touch and is not contagious.
2. Keeping this in mind, make sure to take a family history, since it can be genetically linked, also take an opinion of a medical specialist to exclude medical conditions like
hypothyroidism, decreased nutritional status, and blood sugar (as routine).
3. Because
skin infection of any type is precipitated by stress and disturbed immune system, hence IMMUNOMODULATORS are the choice.
- soaking hands in Epsom salt or oatmeal containing water is also good.
- Vitamin E rich food: spinach, almond oil, sweet potato, sunflower seeds are good for skin problem.
- Avoid: too oily food, mental stress.
- Take: diet rich in proteins, iron,
folic acid, green vegetables, massage, boiled and filtered water to drink.
PS. Examination / opinion of a
dermatologist is mandatory for further necessary line of treatment and management.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
