Does Saving A Person From Falling Affect Arthritis?
I hurt myself at work while trying to stop a client falling, I did not get pain straight away, but by the afternoon I had pain in my left side of my neck, shoulder and below my shoulder blade. That was on the 12th february and have been getting severe pain at the back of my neck which has given me headaches and pain behind my ears and getting pain in my jaw. I have rhumatoid arthritis, had so for many years as i used to get my knees drained of fluid. I had a xray and showed up arthritis in my shoulder ( bursa ) I can put up with the arthritis pain, but my neck gets stiff and very sore when I turn it left or right. Would me trying to stop a person falling affected my arthritis to come back
As per your symptom and history there is possibility of acute muscle spasm in neck or there can be cervical disc compression. Due to compression of this nerve root there is pain associated with it.
For these symptoms muscle relaxant with analgesic and neurotropic medication can be started consulting your treating doctor. Till time take rest and continue analgesic available over the counter take rest, and hot fomentation. Physiotherapy like ultrasound and interferential therapy will give quick relief. You may need to do MRI cervical spine if symptoms persist. I will advise to check your vit B12 and vit D3 level. Arthritis may not aggravate due to saving person from falling.
