Does Severe Knee Pain Need Medical Attention?

I have had pain in my right knee for about 2 weeks. I have taken advil for inflammation. I have elevated it. It wakes me up at night. I have had a torn meniscus on my left knee a few years ago and had surgery done on it. It feels the same. Should I see my primary doctor???

Hi,
Thanks for your question.
I do understand your pain and discomfort.
Advil-Ibuprofen
As per your history your problem has many pathological causes so before arriving at a diagnostic point you need certain investigations as below-:
1)Do Blood DC and TWBC count to ruled out infection and filariasis

2)Do a fasting blood sugar and Uric acid test

3)Do a physical exam as well as arthroscopy of knee by an orthopedic doctor to ruled out all surgical disorders of knee if blood report is normal
I hope I was able to address your query. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to write to me.
Wishing you all the best.
Thanks,
I find this answer helpful
