Does Smoking Marijuana Affect The Baby Considering I Am 23 Weeks Pregnant?
Hi, I'm 23 weeks I recently found out I was pregnant a week before I turned 20 weeks. My last period was a year ago after I had a fetal de mice and was put on the depo shot so i didnt know i was pregnant till i got sick one day and blacked out i took a home pregnancy test and it came back positive. I scheduled a Appt with the women's health clinic for a abortion ( before yu judge hear me out) they gave me a Appt for four weeks later. The reason why I choose to get the abortion is because I had been smoking cigarettes every day (almost a pack a day) and occasionally smoked marijuana I'm not a drinker but I maybe drank twice the whole time. I feared that I affected the baby and I couldn'tgo through aanother miscarriage again. Me knowing how my body is i didnt feel right one day and i went to the hospital i felt like my cervix had dilated or something was happening down there not normal. I explained to them that I just found out i was pregnant and i had a Appt for a abortion in the next couple of weeks they ran test and they tell me i have a incompetent cervix so I was at high risk they gave me the option to get a emergency cerclage because i was 20 weeks pregnant and according to the doctor to late to get an abortion. She asked me why i wanted to and ieexplained why because of the smoking and cigarettes i felt like i harmed the baby she told me she had mothers who did way worst shooting them selfs up with heroine.. because my baby was 20 weeks I felt really bad that I harmed her but i made the descion to go ahead and do the emergency cerclage.I was told my cervix was 1.4 cm and funneling I'm 23 weeks now and my cervix is at 3.5 cm since i found out iwas ppregnant i haven't smoked anything. I wish I knew sooner I was pregnant and i wouldn't have harmed my baby It breaks my heart because of me my baby was exposed. I took a urine test yesterday at my appt and my doctor said i was clean i just wanted to know if my baby will be okay I probably won't make it to full term with this cerclage but I'm praying I make it long enough to were my baby comes healthy

but you should know that if you pause now
it is not enough
first go through the pregnancy
having kicked your habits
you should also know
that babies exposed to smoke of your habits
will put his lungs at risk of diseases at a later date
when the child grows older
please present the child a healthy growing period by kicking your habits
even if outdoors
enough residues enter home in your clothes
