Does Swelling In Lips And Nose After Taking Medicine For Impetigo To Be Concerned About?

Hi, I was diagnosed with impetigo early yesterday morning.. I was prescribed oral medicine and cream.. Since then I have taken three pills and applied cream three times. And my swelling of my lips and nose have grown alot... Should I return to the hospital?

Thanks for the query..

As per your complain it seems that you have got an allergic reaction to the medicines given to you for Impetigo and it is leading to Allergic Angioedema of lip and nose...

You should immediately consult your treating physician and get evaluated and he can change the medicine or reduce its dose to relieve the symptoms..
Anti allergics like Benadryl or levocetrizine can also be advised.
Doing cold compresses can also help..
