Does Taking Amoxicillin Clavulanate Cause Severe Headache?

I had a severe headache last night and tylenal didnt work. I thought I would check my blood ox and found that it was 63, the lowest i ve seen. It was determined that i wasnt getting any air, the hose wasnt hooked up properly to the water bottle on my concentrator. I had started taking a new drug, Amox-clav on 2/7/17 for an infected toe. Can you help me determine what caused this headache? YYYY@YYYY

Hello,

Amoxicillin and related antibiotics will not cause a headache as a side effect. As a first line management, you can take analgesics like paracetamol or aceclofenac for pain relief.

If symptoms persist, it is better to consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
