My 35 year old son was in an auto accident at age 19 and suffered a traumatic brain injury. He is currently on klonopin 1mg. 3 times daily for core spasticity, and remeron 40 mg. at bedtime along with 75 mg. of benadryl for sleep. He began physical therapy a week ago after a decade long break from this therapy. He spoke to his Father that he cannot continue PT as the sensation of the joint loosening message that is being done before he begins the exercises is causing him to have involuntary erections. He is 16 years post accident and has been in therapies for 10 of the 16 years. This has never happened before. Could it be a side effect of the medications? He just came off baclofen, dantrolene, abilify maintaina injection, and levocarnitine in mid September. He is very embarrassed by this and wants to stop PT. He desperately needs it.
