Does Taking Methadone And Levofloxacin Together Cause Any Side Effect?
I maintain an inr of approximately 2.8 (warfarin) am on methadone (20 mg. qid) and have just been prescribed levofloxacin (750 mg. qd) and fluconazole (200 mgs. qod) for cellulitis. I am 80 years old and an insulin dependent diabetic. I am worried about potential drug interactions affecting clotting time. Any words of wisdom? After the response I just got already, I don t think I ll have much confidence in any further answer.

Studies have shown that both Levofloxacin and Fluconazole do iterfere with warfarin clearance, showing an increase in the INR value. So there is a definite possibility of increasing the chances of bleeding episode.
