Does Taking Rubella Vaccine Affect Pregnancy ?

hello, I have a question. I have got Rubella Vaccine for about 20 days, then I see that I have pregnancy . Are there any influences on my off spring after getting Vaccine Rubella about 20 days? Should I keep my pregnancy?

hi,thanks for query.This is tricky situation.normally any live vaccine is not be taken during pregnancy.Please talk to your doctor and discuss this with him.No immediate termination routinely is advised.The decision is taken on case to case bases with other investigation as per the case.

The side effects of the vaccine on the baby can be congenital rubella syndrome which is seen in few females who had taken the vaccine for rubella.If the vaccine is taken and then after few days you come to know that you are pregnant then it is better to discuss the issue with your Gynaecologist regarding whether you can continue the pregnancy or not she will be the better person to give the decision.
