Does Tattooing Cause Enlarged Lymph Nodes?

I recently got a tattoo on my hip, and have noticed enlarged lymph nodes in my groin. I researched it a little bit, and it seems like this isn’t abnormal, but the nodes have been swollen for a little over a week and I’m getting concerned. I didn’t have a reaction with any of my other tattoos, so I’m not sure why I am with this one. When should I see a doctor, or am I overthinking this.

Hello,

Sometimes infection does come to the body or allergy and lymph nodes inflamed and can cause all this. But it is good for your body that your defence mechanism is active.

It is not very urgent for you to see a doctor. If it is still persistently, then a dose of antibiotic full course dosage based on body weight would be better.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Archana
