Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband is 65 yrs and fit. he takes a tablet of hypertension in the morning. the recent ecg reports show some spikes and the family general physician says that it is due to stimulent present in tea. my husband is adviced to stop taking tea. he takes only one cup of tea in the morning. may i know what could be the cause of spikes. my mail id YYYY@YYYY
Since the ECG reports are not completely normal, you are suggested to get your husband a thorough cardiac check-up. He is 65 & it is better to get him physically examined & get investigations done to stay on the safer side & rule out any developing CAD.
If diabetic, maintain the blood sugar levels, weight management as per BMI should be done.
He should avoid addictions if any, do regular exercises, take home made nutritious food, stay away from packed, frozen food. Stay hydrated & away from anxiety & stress.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
