Does Test Result Indicate Hypothyroidism?

Hi,

I found a little bit of swelling on the neck. I got checked T3, T4 and TSH for my daughter (7yrs+). Her mother is also having Hypothyroidism. Her FT3 is 1.7 (normal level 2.6-4.8), FT4 is 0.40 (0.8-2), TSH 217 (normal level 0.7-6.4). Could you pls suggest? Is she also having Hypothyroid?

Thanks,

Hi,
Low T3 and T4 (F means free) with elevated TSH (hormone produced from pituitary-hypothalamus) indicates hypo-functioning thyroid despite excessive stimulation from central hormones.
It is definitely hypothyroidism.
She needs to be evaluated for iodine deficiency and supportive thyroid hormone therapy.
Fine needle aspiration cytology may be required to confirm colloid goiter.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
