Does The Bleeding From An Abortion Go On For Months With Lots Of Blood Clots And Hurting Ovaries ?

Hi, I had to have an abortion because my baby was not growing I took the pill. I've been bleeding for a month now and it's a lot of blood clots it seems to get better then worse. My ovaries hurt but then I'm fine again. Is this all part of it or should I call my doctor

IT is very important after an abortion to have a follow up scan.
This should be done 15 days after completion of an abortion to document that the uterine cavity is empty and there are no retained products of conception inside the uterus.
If you had a medical abortion this should be done 15 days after the last tablet.
IF it was a surgical abortion, then 15 days from the date of surgery.
Please confirm that you had this requisite follow up visit and the scan was normal, showing an empty uterus.
Spotting and mild cramping might go on for a month after an abortion, however in your case, you have been bleeding heavily for a month.
That is not normal at all.
It indicates an incomplete abortion or some kind of infectious process.
Yes, you should call your doctor and schedule a pelvic ultrasound scan.
Avoid pregnancy for atleast 3 months following an abortion.
