Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was diagnosed with non ischemic dilated cardiomyopathy and heart failure in august with an ef of 35%. My ej is no 59% and my doctor say in a year they will do the echo and muwg tests again and if my heart is still the same my cardiomyopathy and heart failure has cured it's self. I was wondering how is that possible. I thought once you have caridomyopathy and heart failure you always will.
non Ischemic Dialated cardiomyopathy is a diagnosis of exclusion. among these cardiomyopathy some are reversible which can be treated with medication. sometimes myocarditis pts.are diagnosed as cardiomyopathy and they recover to normal heart after a period of few weeks to few months. so don't worry it's good to have a normal EF so as to have good prognosis.
