Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
what does this x ray finding mean. I am 71 years old, female, healthy except for asthma. the xray was taken to rule out pneumonia during an excaberation of asthma. There is a masslike opacity in the left lung base on the PA view with lobulated margins. This measures 6 mm in diameter. This may represent a superposition of overlapping structures, but a lung nodule cannot be excluded.
There is a suspicious nodule in your lung. Most probably it will be an old and healed infection like in old tuberculosis. However, it is better to go for a CT scan to get a better clinical picture.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
