Does The Foreskin Retracts By Itself Or Have To Be Pulled Over The Gland?
I m male and i m 15. everyone has been saying that the foreskin has to be retracted manually at a small age. However i was unaware of this and i have always imagined that the foreskin retracts naturally and independently. Im a uncircumcised male and i know i don t want to be circumcised. My question is, Does the foreskin naturally retract by its self? Or do you have to pull it over your gland?
Hello ! The Foreskin does not retract by itself. In some cases the foreskin maybe very tight and adherent to the penis whereby the it obstructs free flow of urine, this condition is called Phimosis. In this case circumcision is adviced as it may lead to infections. It is adviced generally that all uncircumcised males should retract the Foreskin and wash it gently with warm water but not soap as a white Cheesy material called smegma collects between the groove of the penis and foreskin. This smegma sometimes gives rise to unpleasant odour so its adviced to wash once in a while.
