Hello my sister went to the doctor today to get her mammogram results and they told her they found scattered fibroglandular tissue 4 inch something and 98 percent in one breast and 2 inch something in the other. Does this mean cancer? They said she needs to get sent to a surgeon right away.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Mammography is an imaging technique in which any suspicious lesion is detected on the mammograph. This investigation detects calcification since malignancy is usually associated with calcification. The results of mammography is reported as Birad's score. Kindly, mention the Birad's score if it is mentioned on the mammography report. Hogher score suggests greater possibility of malignancy.
