Does The Quantity Of Alcohol Result In High LDL And SGOT Level?
I just went for the whole body check up... Yesterday I got the reports . its says the LDL is too high, ie 255, HDL 38, triglycerides at 270, SGOT 104 and SGPT at 126... I daily used too have a large quanity of alcohol (vodka) ... IS this alarming? Is there a need to visit doctor in person / or can I control my lifestyle and it will help?
My name is Ankur -- Age is 32 years -- Smoke around 20 cigarretes a day(Marlboro lights) and around 320ml of vodka daily...!
Yes it is somewhat alarming. Your SGPT and SGOT are high suggestive of liver dysfunction. You should have ultrasound(sonography) for abdomen to evaluate your liver condition. There must be fatty changes. To prevent further damage to liver like cirrhosis and cancer , you must stop alcohol at any cost. Cholesterol controlled by exercises and diet changes. You should consult doctor for further management, treatment as well as deaddiction.
