Does The Recreational Drugs Interfere With Anesthesia?
Hey there! I m getting my wisdom teeth removed on the 31st of this month. I am going to a huge party around the 12th and probably will be doing ecstasy that night. Is that enough time for there to not be any effect from the recreational drug during the anesthesia?
technically probably yes but it is still a very bad idea. Anesthesia can change the tone of the blood vessels and certainly changes the tone of the brain. The tone of these is altered by extasy even after the drug is gone and can cause some complications. the only really likely one is with increased or decreased tone (withdrawal effect) the effect of the anesthetic will change and you could have less or more sedation. Unlikely this will be to a DANGEROUS degree but it certainly is quite possible that it will make things much more difficult (suppose you can't wake up for an hour; suppose you can't be sedated... embarassing). You don't have to have the extasy right then.
