Does Thyroid Or A Sedentary Lifestyle Bring Down BP Levels?
Hi Dr. Runners, I am a sixty year old female. My blood pressure has always been around 120/70. A recent check at my dental office read 107/60. I take a small dose of Levthyroxin (30 mg.), and no other medication. I am slightly overweight and am just beginning to become more active. Question: Could this be thyroid or my sedentary lifestyle for the last two years? Thank you, Sandra
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns. You recently went to your dentists office and your blood pressure was slightly low. Actually your blood pressure is completely normal. There is no reason for you to be concerned about that blood pressure. Your thyroid hormones will actually bring your blood pressure up a little but not significantly. You sedentary lifestyle though increases your risk of diabetes. I would recommend regular exercise and weight loss to improve your overall health
