Hi,

Tranexamic acid is given to stop bleeding after trauma or surgery and for heavy menstrual bleeding. Mefenamic acid is a NSAID and is given to treat pain, including menstrual pain. These drugs are not used to get periods. You may consult your doctor about brownish discharge, if it was blood or not.
