Does We Need To Take Full Vaccine For Dog Bite Even Though The Dog Is Vaccinated For Rabies ?

sir,my daughter had a dogbite yesterday by 1pm I took Kamrab vaccine+ Rabipur+T T.she is 6 years old &20kgs weight. Doctor advised to take remaining 4 doses also on the 3rd day and 7th+7th+7thday.dog was vaccinated.But I am still worried.pls advice..

Welcome to Healthcare magic forum,
Even if dog has been vaccinated its better to take full dose of antirabies vaccination.
Follow ur doctor's advise, nothing to worry ur daughter will be have no problem.

If this is the first vaccination then the schedule is OK.But there was no need to give T.T as addition as she already took DPT at 5 years.

Hi,thanks for query.You have done the right thing.Please to be on safer side complete the course of 5 injections.If the dog is available for observation and during 10 day observation period the dog does not show any signs of rabies,you can discuss this with your doctor and can give her only 3 injections on day 0(day of bite),day 3 and day 21.
