Does Widal Test Of 1:100 During Pregnancy Indicate Typhoid?
Dear Doctor
My sister became pregnant after 51/2 years of marriage. It was a natural conception. But she had spotting thorugh out and the hcg count which started with 1710 reduced in 3 to 4 days. She had fever 2 weeks before and then she was ok. Now again she has slight fever and the widal test count 1:100 . Does she have typhoid

Hi, Thanks for asking. Based on your query, my opinion is as follows. 1. No, 1:100 is negative. 2. 1:160 or above usually indicates widal positive. 3. If she has no fever at present not to worry. If doubtful you can get a repeat widal and see if it is increased. At present you are negative for typhoid. Hope it helps. Any further queries, happy to help again.
