Does Withdrawal From Prednisone Cause Memory Problems?
My mother was on prednisone for a long period of time. She took herself off the prednisone and has had made memory lose since February. She has also found out she has RA and has to go back onto the prednisone for that treatment. When she is on the medication she seems much better. When she has finished her medication she goes make to memory lose. Do you think her body just so use to have it that she became addicted?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are wondering if withdrawal from Prednisone cause memory problems. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like sleep disorder , strokes , medications , antihistamines , lack of sufficient B12 , stress or anxiety . Memory problem is no probably a withdrawal symptoms of prednisone . I would suggest you to consult neurologist for proper examination . Doctor may order certain test and take history to confirm the diagnosis . Doctor may prescribe supplement like vitamin B12 or ginkgo biloba . For now withdraw prednisone slowly and do mind relaxaing exercises like meditation and yoga .
