Does Withdrawal Of Levothyroxine Lead To Fatigue And Weight Gain?

Had my thyroid removed last spring...been taking 125 mcg of Levothyroxine ever since. Am having a pet scan in 2 weeks to make sure no cancer cells are lingering. IN the meantime, I have had to be off my med for 30 days prior to scan...and feel tired and like Im starting to gain weight. Are these normal symptoms?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
These are usually the symptoms of hormone deficiency. You could be experiencing them because of withdrawal of Levothryroxine.
As of now this is not much of a concern to worry.
It can be assured that symptoms will subside after restarting the hormone tablet.
Hope my advise was helpful to you
