Dog Bite On Leg, Slight Mark, Slight Bleeding, Injected, Little Alcohol. Cure?
I had a dog bite in goa on 7th april-2012 midnight in a pub,a slight mark on my leg(very minor)but i got slight blood , i had consulted the doctor ang gor injected also...my query is when i asked the doctor about restricted food he said no restrictions but after 1 hour after injection i had taken little alcohol ,will it affect me??
Dog bite and its treatment does not require any form of dietary restriction. But personally avoid alcohol and beverages containing alcohol while on any medication as it may interact with drugs as alcohol is also a drug.
When ever bitten by any animal which has propensity to transmit rabies like Dog etc, do clean the wound with plenty of water and clean with soap and later apply betadine and leave the wound open. Rabies requires anti rabies injections as per WHO schedule, vaccinated at Day0.3.14.21.28 and booster if required at 6 months along with shot of Inj Tetanus toxoid.Do take care...wish you a speedy recovery!
