Done Hip Replacement. Popping Sounds In Groin, Painful To Walk. X-ray Normal. Any Thoughts?
I had a left total hip replacement almost two years ago. One year later I could hear loud popping sounds (coming from my left groin area). The pop sounded like a huge knuckle cracking. These popping noises ceased 6 months ago and were replaced by pain in my groin area and front of left thigh. Current PT not helping at all. Am using a cane because walking has really become painful. Saw my surgeon - x-ray looks perfect and I can tell that this prosthesis is a different type than my right hip replacement. He said he thinks the pain is from scar tissue and I will have it for another year. Bad news...and pain meds are no help. I am also heavy - 80 pounds overweight. Any advice, thoughts, suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Hi, one year latter you are hearing poping sounds, and disappeared folowed by pain, there could be some displacement of the head due to some reason. I advise you to consult an orthopedic surgeon for diagnosis and treatment. I to my patients with such symptoms pescribe for maintenance injections of vitamin B1, B6, and B12, and pain killers till the patient consults the orthopedic . Thank you.
