Done Hip Replacement Surgery. Taking Warfarin. Have Nosebleed. Should I Continue Aspirin Therapy?

I am an 81 year old male. I had hip replacement surgery 6 weeks ago. I came home on warfarin therapy. I took 7.5 mgs per day, and had visiting nurse check the levels of warfarin. I have been taken off warfarin for 2 days, and during the night, I had a nosebleed. It bled quite a bit, but did stop on its own after about 5 minutes. Should I continue aspirin therapy as I was told by orthopedic surgeon. I was told to take 4-n 81 mg aspirin for 4 days. I was on day 2 when the nosebleed occurred.

Hi1 Thanks for your query. As such you are off from warfarin. One episode of nose bleed is not alarming but if it recurs stop Aspirin and see the ENT doctor immediately.
