Done Hysterectomy. Have Breast Soreness, Swelling, Redness. Family History Of Cancer. Concerned
a year and a half ago my doctor found a lump in my left breast. He was not to concerned about it, said probably a cyst. I have since then ( a month later) had a hysterectomy. For the past 8 months I have had breast soreness, swelling, and redness in my left breast. All of the symptoms a constant ( not just around my time of the month) The lump is still there and bigger than it was. I am having a mammogram and ultrasound done, but was wondering since cancer runs in my family should i be concerned? My mother had uterine cancer, 2 of my aunts had breast cancer. I have had cervical cancer 2 times.
After undergoing, sonomammaography you once go for FNAC. FNAC (Fine needle aspiration cytology) helps in identifying the actual nature of the lump. Then depending on the report you can plan further management. As you are having family history better to remove the lump even it proves to be a benign lesion to prevent future risk. You discuss these things with your doctor and proceed according to her advice. For more details you can ask me through: http://www.healthcaremagic.com/doctors/dr-sree-gouri-sr/63429 Take care.
