Done Hysterectomy. Work Involves Lifting Heavy Objects. What Can I Do Safely?

yes, thank you. I am in my 3rd week of a total hysterectomy and my surgeon is great, but not too keen on answering my questions. so...I work at a swap meet and lift heavy boxes. (I'd say 20lbs or more), and he said I could do anything I feel like, but that seems alittle soon talking to others who have had this surgery. What CAN I do safely, and what CAN"T I do safely into my third week. My surgery site is fine and healing nicely and no problems with the surgery at all...

Dear bebe,
I had a doubt whether ur surgery was done with an incision (cut) over abdomen or Through Vagina.
Anyhow it doesnt matter which way surgery was done , YOu have to take rest atleast for 1 month and after that you can try lifting objects which are not heavy from ground and see whther pain is there or not. if yes it means u have to wait 1 or 2 more weeks to the heavylifting.
Remember post any abdominal surgery if u dont take proper rest u will develop herniatio due to weakened muscle of abdomen which does not imply for a vaginal hysterectimy where u have to look for pain alone
Thank you
