Done Lobectomy Due To Lung Cancer. Worried About Inverted Nipple
Hi My name is Christine, recently I was diagnosed with lung cancer and in the interim had a mammogram, so on the 16th may i had a lobectomy (R) and the best result is they got it all and i'm recovering well, but today I got a phone call from the breast screening clinic asking me to get my left breast checked by my GP because she was concerned about my inverted nipple which has been like it for a good 10 years (L), and as it happens I had an appointment with my Gp today for a checkup as to how I'm travelling. She did a breast exam and can't find any lumps but said it felt hollow behind the nipple. I'm now feeling very anxious. Christine
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. You have not mentioned , that lung cancer was primary or secondary to other parts of body. But main query is retraction or inverted nipple. This is very diagnostic features of something wrong in breast itself. This is not necessary that just behind nipple there is lump. Important point is nipple inverted, that too the nipple of left side ,while you operated for right side. Once again consult a physician / surgeon and get examination for primary site of cancer . Hope I have answered your question. If further any question I will help. Get well soon. Dr. HET
