hi there, your stool test is within normal limits but your blood reports suggest that you are suffering from a mild grade of anemia which may probabely nutritional due to lack of iron in your diet. You could get an anemia profile done where they will assess the various parameters and give you the actual cause of anemia, in the mean while you could start oral iron supplimental capsules and get yourself dewormed, to rule out the most common caouse of iron deficiency anemia in the third world countries. You could also increase the intake of iron rich food like dates, jaggery and if you are nonvegeterian then red meat and mutton liver to name a few. Take care.
Hello,
Results of the stool test is completely normal.
However, the hemogram shows low Hb at 9.3 with anisocytosis (different shapes of red cells), hypochromia (low intensity in colour i.e., because of low Hb) with poikilocytosis.
This is most commonly observed in iron deficiency anaemia, so either iron levels can be done or a trial of antihelminthics (deworming) followed by oral iron for 3 months and a repeat hemogram.
If you have heavy periods, then the Fe deficiency is explained by that so 3 months of iron supplementation will be important.
Vit B12 and folate levels should be normal, but should be done at some point.
If the Fe def anaemia does not improve, liver function tests with a coeliac screen (TTG IgA) must be done.
I hope this helps.
Best Wishes.
