Done Total Knee Replacement. Done Physiotherapy. Have Fibro In DPA. Help
I had total knee done on 5/21 have done PT in house 3x6, then out PT water 1 land 1 then water then out 3x4 Flexion is 105 me 110 w help from PT can't do bike around and over yet, just rock. Have Fibro in both DPA ck me to day did not look at report from PT, then said if I wanted better life would need to do Manipulations under anesthesia, be on CPM daily and PT 5 x2 weeks don't know what to do. PT thinks 4-6 weeks I could get there.Help
It is not uncommon to develop Arthrofibrosis (adhesions) in few patients who undergo total knee replacement (TKR). The resultant effect will be limitation of range of movement.
Generally, Manipulation under general anesthesia is done in less than 6 weeks of time from the date of surgery. It will then yield better results.
If it has been more than 6 weeks, then an Arthroscopic release of adhesions and joint lavage is indicated.
