Done With Antibiotic Course Post Appendectomy, Experiencing Pruritus On Hands, Feet, Soles. Due To Medicines?
i had a laparascopic appendectomy 2/2/13. Flagyl and Cipro were finished as of 2/13/13. For the last two days I have developed severe pruritis on palms of hands, soles of feet, everywhere else. No redness, no rash , just severe itching of skin. Is this due to the antibiotics? Of note, I am nine days in of starting Bupropion 150 mg a day. So this confuses the matter. Is the itching from the Wellbutrin or the antibiotics which were stopped three days ago.
Your symptoms can not be attributed to ciprofloxacin as you have stopped taking it long back.
Your symptoms might be due to allergic reaction to bupropion or some other allergen. You should contact allergic specialist/ dermatologist for detailed evaluation and management.
meanwhile, You may take anti histmainic drug like fexofenadine or cetrizine to have relief form allergy. You may get prescription from your doctor for the same.
Thanks.
