Drinking Alcohol Due To Sleeplessness And Do Smoking. Skin Is Terrible And Disturbing Bowel With Sore Back. Suggest?
I am a 35 years old woman, I have been drinking alcohol for the last 14 years, started when I couldn't sleep because of an abusing boyfriend. Those days I am trying my best to cut down but fell off the wagon all the time and don't think anything about drinking a big bottle of beer followed by a bottle of rose. I do smoke on top of that (also I have been trying to quit for years). I believe I have already caused massive damages to my liver as my skin is terrible and my bowel doesn't seems to work very well either. On top of it I have soar back and legs, which sometimes stop me from walking (which is my favourite activity)...
Since you are finding it difficult to quit by yourself, I suggest that you take the help of medicines to reduce your craving for both alcohol and cigarettes. This will make it easier for you to quit. Please discuss with your doctor the different options like acamprosate, baclofen etc for alcohol and bupropion, varenicline, nicotine replacement for cigarettes. Choose the options that suit you best and then try your best.
Good luck.
