hi my son just got his blood test back and he has homogeneous pattern with titre 1.160 and antineut rophil cytoplasmic antibody was negative. creatinine was bolded black 115 and egfr 78 ml/min/1.73^2 then it read at bottom egfr values between 60 and 89ml/min/1.73m2 should be interpreted with caution what does all this mean
im getting worried he hasn't been his self for a while eg dry mouth, complains of sometimes swallowing, pains in the chest, sometimes comes out in red rash if gets over heated usually around neck and shoulders and face sometimes pains in stomach that are bad. 3 yrs ago he was hospitalised for 3 day with intense stomach pain rash that started like chicken pop blisters that all joined to being a red rash the only thing that stopped it all was steroids and panadine forte for a month can you please tell me the doctor didn't explain much today also is it related to motor neurone disease as my ex reece father was diagnosed with this last year

hi,
EGFR, is renal function test, as it is in borderline, it is mentioned it has to be interpreted with caution. so, renal function is compromised. dry mouth, difficulty in swallowing, chest pain, rashes are indicative of autoimmune disorder (vasculitis, inflammation of glands, oseophagus, skin blood vessels etc.).

his last admission histroy of pain abdomen and rash on joints and stopping with steroids is classical example of Henoch–Schönlein purpura, which is also autoimmune disorder.

it is not related to MND (mottor neuron disease).

may other tests for other other auto immune disease has to tested.
anti-cytoplasmic antibody is antibody against cell cytoplasm, so body identifies its own part as foreign and tries to attack causing destruction (key part in any autoimmune disease). this is increased in one of autoimmune disease.

wishing him good health
