Dry Patches On Lower Lip, Spreading On Cheeks, Apthous Ulcer On Tongue. What Is The Cause And Possible Treatment?
Hello, im a 27 year old female. Non smoker, i never drink alcohol. 2 days ago i started to feel a painless dry patch on the inside ofmy lower lip . It was invisible but today, its slighty raised and pinkish. Also i started to feel a new patch inside my right cheek. Im so worried it might be cancer . If it is infact malignant, would develop so rapidly with a new patch appearing with a couple of days. I also have an aphthous ulcer on my tongue now. Are there any other causes that might be causing this? Stress?... Certain foods? Thanl you very much for your tine
Sorry to hear about your problem. Your description of the lesion is very good and from your description it does not look like a cancer. It is an apthous ulcer which can be located on the lip as well. Considering your history of apthous ulcers, this looks like the most probably diagnosis.
these ulcers are usually caused by stress and spicy foods. Certain vitamin deficiencies can also lead to these ulcers.
You should try a multivitamin for a few weeks and that should help in the resolution of these ulcers. If they do not heal in a week's time, you can visit a doctor and have them biopsied.
Hoping for the best.
