Dull Pain On Left Side Of Chest. Recovering From Cold, Cough. Heart Rate Normal. Cause?

im a fifteen year old girl and since last night have been experiencinf a dull pain in the left side of my chest, inside my ribs. it feels like my heart. i get worried easily, and am especially worried lately because on Monday a girl my age died in her sleep from heart problems. i think she had problems all her life, but i have been quite nervous and worried this passed week, and also stressed because exams are starting. i am recovering from a chest cold where i got a nasty cough and lost my voice. i have no pre existing heart problems, my heart rate is 80bpm and i do 3hours of netball a week. it is only really there when i think about the girl, or if i think bout the pain, and it sometimes passes.from my left to right side. i really dont want to die like this girl did, please help!

Hi,
You really seem to be scared! When you don't have heart symptoms so far, The pain in the chest you have shifts to other side, some times it disappears, and again comes with the thought of your lost friend, its not likely to be heart pain.Still to remove your fear , act on following lines.
The cough & cold you had, may have an allergic element- which many a times leads to a temporary change in blood. That is Eosinophilia- this can give rise to chest pain like you have.
Get your blood checked TLC, DLC- which will confirm or exclude Eosinophilia.
It is an easily treatable condition. Your Doctor will prescribe you few pills after checking your blood report & you will be fine with the treatment.
To control your fear a check up by a Heart specialist & ECG will help you by excluding heart problem.
Please take care.
Thank you.
