Ear Build Up, Throat Pain, Swallowing Difficulty, Headaches. Some Relief With Cough Medicine. Medication?

I have had ear build up, throat pain and difficulty swallowing. I had it 10 days ago. I watch my Grandaughter who had an ear infection and similar simptons. She is on a medicine I flew to Colorado and seemed to get worse with headache and throat pain but did see a wee bit improvement on a cough medicine I got at wallgreens.Robitussin multi symptom cold.
I also took wallgreens aspirin for the headache thinking it was high altitude since I flew there from PHX>
Any ideas???
Thanks

Hi Dear

Welcome to the board of health care magic.

Dear Sir you have developed Upper respiratory Tract infection.

Probaably tonsilitis/Phayringitis ( local examintion will confirm) along with this, infection has also travelled to your ear canal through throat (otitis Media).Causing sever pain in ear canal.

This could be the sole reason for your headache.

Please consult ENT surgeon. He may advice you some investigation like throat swab culture,
Then he will advice you the some analgesic, antiinflammmatory medicine and relevant antibiotic according to the culture report.

Hope you will be better with this.

Thanks
