Ear Drum Repaired, Have Fullness Feeling Since Days. Sign Of Infection?
Jan 4th past, 2013, my wife has her ear drum repaired. We are scheduled tomorrow for her first follow up apponitment. Her ear for only the last three days till ow, no pain , feels full she says. It s like when you get water in your ear while swimming she describes. Given this sensation only started three days ago...does this mean infection? We didn t change the cotton in her outer ear ..only the covering bandage outside as per doctor s instructions. Thank you.
firstly i dont think you need to get worried , during surgery , the middle ear is packed with medicated gel foam , this gel foam acts as a scaffold to hold the new repaired ear drum , the gel foam takes about 3-4 weeks for getting dissolved. during this phase you will experience the feeling that water is in your ear.
i hope this helps
regards
dr arun
