Ear Infection, Drum Covered With Wax, Advised Ciproflaxacin. Still Hurts, Can Barely Hear, Throat Hurts. What To Do ?
Hi a general doctor told me that I have an ear infection on my left ear but she can't see my ear drum because it's covered by stuff (wax, puss...). She gave me antibacterial drops: 0.3 percent sandbox ciproflaxacin sol. Opht to take while I try and get an ENT but all the appointments I've been getting are around end of July. I don't think I can wait that long. I can barely hear out of that ear and it hurts. Also, the left side of my throat hurts and I can't chew without my left side hurting. What should I do? Think it's serious. I'm 18.

From your history it seems that you might be having impacted ear wax in your left ear giving rise to this problem.
Put some wax dissolving ear drops for few days.
Once wax will be dissolving and becomes loose. you will feel relief.
Put cotton buds inside the external ear and clean it.

Your left ear is with wax or pus ? because both are different entity to treat. If its wax you need wax disolvant only then it can be removed easily you can have only analgesics to get rid of pain. But if it is pus it need to be cleaned under observation and needs antibiotics its because your having otitis externa
