Earaches After Last Menstrual Cycle, Rashes, Shingles. Does Shingles Affect Menstruation ?
Good evning! I had my ist day of my last menstrual cycle july 3 (normally last for more than a week) on july 8 i experienced ear ache and after 3-4 days my rashes came out and it was shingles . Does the shingles affect my menstrual cycle? Because this is the first time that happened to me that my period is now on the 3rd week.
The symptoms that you have mentioned- ear ache and rashes are suggestive of shingles / herpes zoster infection. Shingles lies dormant in nerve ganglia and there are certain conditions where gets reactivated. Shingles is usually precipitated by infections, fall in immunity, any kind of stress. Menstruation is also one kind of stress. It can precipitate shingles. So, shingles / herpes zoster infection can manifest during menstruation. There is nothing to worry. Consult your doctor and take treatment for shingles.
