hello and welcome to health care magic, I am Dr Sriram nathan and i Shall try to help you out with your problem. Your son seems to have injured his ear drum when he was cleaning the ear. Many people do not realize the danger of cleaning the ear even with a bud. Now do not worry and most of the time it gets cured. The best thing to do right now is to keep his ears dry and clean and also remember these: - Do not put any ear drops not even olive oil -Do not take head bath for two weeks and after that do not allow any water to enter the ear -take a course of antibiotic like amox-clav and anti histamine like levocetrizine in consulatation with your doctor -but most of all even if you do not put any medication the ear will recover and all you need to do is keep the area dry so if you are not able to afford the medication it does not matter. Remember again that if you keep your ears clean and dry the canal will recover but if it does not recover in a week or two then get an audiometric analysis and examination by an ENT to confirm the finding if there is any hearing loss If any other doubts get back to me regards Dr Sriram Nathan
